I heard about it from a friend of mine, who’s Australian friend was playing cricket in Estonia. I went to see the game once or twice and it seemed really strange game at first. All the players were super friendly and asked me to come to play straight away and before I knew it I was already running around on the field without even knowing the rules. It took some time to get to know the rules as there are loads of them and to know these 100% would be tricky but if you get the main idea of the game and rules it is really fun and challenging to play cricket. It is a social, physical and also mental and strategical game, and this is what makes it exciting and fun to play. You always have a chance to learn something new and improve your skills.
My favourite moments in cricket are the wickets taken in the games, it is a proof for me that I have the skills and I am helpful for the team.
Also great moments are involved with tournaments abroad. I have been to tournaments with the women’s team (in Holland, Italy, Finland) and Estonian mixed team (Native’s Cup tournament in Poland). In these tournaments you will get a great solidarity and when playing against foreign teams the motivation and will to win and concentration are higher than in some home games. And when you win, oh that is a sweet feeling 🙂
In 2013 I decided that I wanted to know more about Estonian Cricket Association, so I applied for the board and got selected. I was involved in the ECA board till spring 2019. From 2015 to 2019 I also was the President of the Association. These years were exciting and challenging. I got a lot of experience and saw how the non-profit organisations actually work, and saw cricket from a different perspective than playing on the field. In these and following years our Association has grown a lot thanks to a lot of volunteers and a lot of work was done to get to the point where we are now – we have more clubs, new grounds and people are more aware about Estonian cricket in Estonia and also abroad. I believe cricket has a lot of potential in our small country and our wonderful cricket enthusiasts will be able to attract more and more people to this great game!

Eesti

Olin juhatuses tegev 2019.a. kevadeni.

[5

post-2800","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-womens
["GET
