BOARD NEWS<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

EKL Restructure<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Board has over the last month been reviewing the current structures and workflows within the association and in this month’s meeting resolved to amend the current structure which will increase the level of interaction between the Board and the member clubs. The main aim of this is to try and get more people involved with the organisation of the Association and participating actively in growing cricket within Estonia.<\/p>\n

With this change it means that the role of Operations Manager, currently carried out by Terry O’Connor, has been removed. As such we have given Terry notification we will be terminating his employment contract with a month’s notice period.<\/p>\n

Terry has been with us 2 years and in this time has helped the development of many aspects of the administration and helped restart the Women’s National team and league cricket. He brought valuable experience with his organisational skill, ICC processes and valuable contacts with our Nordic neighbours as part of this role and leaves us in a strong position to move forward. We would like to wish him well on his future endeavours wherever they may take him.<\/p>\n

More information will follow to all clubs and National sides shortly about the new structure and roles of the Board members going forward but for now if there are any matters requiring urgent attention please feel free to contact the Board on our email\u00a0board@estoniancricket.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moving forward, we will continue working on our projects that are in motion, and this change will not impact any of our ongoing projects including the Mens and Womens national teams.<\/p>\n

August Internationals<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Estonian Cricket Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Estonian Men’s National Team for their outstanding achievements over the past month.<\/p>\n

The team has displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the year, culminating in their outstanding performance at the Baltic Cup tournament held in Tallinn. Facing off against formidable competitors from Latvia, Lithuania, and the MCC, our team showcased their prowess by winning all three of their games and securing the title.<\/p>\n

In addition to their Baltic Cup success, the Men’s National Team competed in the T20 World Cup sub-qualifiers held in Guernsey. This tournament presented a challenging field of higher-ranked international teams, but our squad demonstrated impressive discipline and skill. Winning 4 out of their 5 matches, the team not only showed their capability to compete at a high level but also highlighted their rapid development and resilience on an international stage.<\/p>\n

We extend our deepest gratitude to Head Coach Richard Cox for his unwavering dedication and expert guidance. His perseverance and coaching have been instrumental in developing the team’s skills and fostering a strong team dynamic.<\/p>\n

The improvements in both the squad’s performance and cohesion have been evident throughout the year, and we are immensely proud of the strides made on personal as well as team level. The Estonian Cricket Association looks forward to supporting the team as they continue to build on this success and aim for even greater accomplishments in the future.<\/p>\n

President’s XI Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of this year\u2019s Baltic Cup, the board organized an exhibition match featuring two invitational teams composed of players from our domestic leagues. The match began after the Baltic Cup presentation ceremony, during which we also celebrated Sahil Chauhan\u2019s remarkable achievement of setting the T20 world record for the fastest century in international cricket. This event provided an opportunity for players from different teams to collaborate on the field and allowed those not currently eligible for national squads to participate in a competitive match outside their regular domestic schedule.<\/p>\n

The match concluded with the President’s XI, led by our board president Tim Cross, securing victory over the Invitational XI. This exhibition was part of our ongoing efforts to reward and recognize performance in domestic leagues, and we plan to continue such initiatives in the coming year.<\/p>\n

The men’s indoor leagues will begin on November 2.<\/p>\n

The women’s indoor league will begin on November 3.<\/p>\n

Vienna Autumn Cup<\/strong><\/p>\n

Training will begin at the National Cricket Ground, Tiskre on September 8 from 16:00 – 17:30 and then will move to \u00d5ism\u00e4e G\u00fcmnaasium every Sunday from September 15 from 11:00 – 13:00.<\/p>\n

Introduction to Cricket Program Tallinn<\/strong><\/p>\n

A new introduction to cricket program will begin on October 13. In Tallinn the courses will be held on Sundays at Nord from 11:00-12:00 for kids 7-12, and 12:30-13:30 for Women and kids 13+.<\/p>\n

Introduction to Cricket Program Tartu<\/strong><\/p>\n

A new introduction to cricket program will begin on October 8. In Tartu the courses will be on Tuesdays at Kristjan Jaak Petersoni Gymnasium from 17:30-18:30 for kids 7-12, and 18:30-19:30 for Women and kids 13+.<\/p>\n

Tallinn Junior Cricket<\/strong><\/p>\n

Junior cricket sessions will be held every Sunday at Snelli Stadium from September 8 to 29 from 14:00 to 15:00 with coaches Ragne and Dave.<\/p>\n

Tartu Junior Cricket<\/strong><\/p>\n

Junior cricket sessions will be held every second Wednesday at Kristjan Jaak Petersoni G\u00fcmnaasium, from September 4 from 18:00 to 19:30 with coaches Laima and Savio.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to the men’s team, who were crowned 2024 Baltic Cup champions.<\/p>\n

Game 1: Estonia 166\/9 defeated Latvia 95\/10 by 71 runs<\/p>\n

Game 2: Estonia 228\/4 defeated Lithuania 41\/10 by 187 runs<\/p>\n

The women’s team travelled to Norway to take part in the Nordic Cup, facing Norway, Finland, Denmark and Guernsey<\/p>\n

Game 2: Guernsey 138\/6 defeated Estonia 72\/10 by 66 runs<\/p>\n

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifier C<\/strong><\/p>\n

The men’s team travelled to Guernsey from to compete in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifier C, where they took on Guernsey, Finland, Malta, Bulgaria and Czech Republic.<\/p>\n
