Cyprus Tour
The Board would like to congratulate the touring squads for both Men’s and Women’s National Teams who visited Cyprus earlier this month to play in a series of both T10s and T20s.
The conditions were pretty tough with temperatures over 30 degrees each day and a minimum of two games per day for both sides.
It was the first series win for the Men’s side since the National Team was restarted so to win both of the series was a great effort and a reflection on the time and effort that have been put in by players and coaches since our last visit 4 years ago where we suffered defeat in every game.
For the Women there was some pretty tough opposition in the form of a couple of star players who were the difference between the sides.
The Board would like to congratulate the Women’s team on their marked improvement throughout the tour, posting gradually better scores in each game and making the matches more competitive; and of course securing their one victory.
OPERATIONS
MCC Tour of Estonia
The Marylebone Cricket Club, MCC, the oldest club in the world and the guardian of the Laws of the game, will be touring Estonia with a Development squad from July 26th to August 5th. They will take part in this year’s Baltic Cup, play some friendly games against the Men’s National Team as well as against some club sides and a team from the NATO base. Members of the squad will also conduct a training session with the Estonia Women’s National Team.
It is a privilege for Eesti Kriketi Liit to host the MCC and let them learn about cricket in Estonia.

Naiste Esiliiga T10
The 2024 Naiste Esiliiga T10 competition begins on Sunday 30 June, the two teams are Ilvesed and Öökullid, The teams will play 7 times for the title with the last round on September 15.

Street20 Junior Cricket Tournament
Our first outdoor junior cricket tournament was held on June 8 at Snelli Stadium.
Teams from Muraste and Tabasalu competed against our EKL Juniors from Tallinn and Tartu, with Tabasalu defeating EKL Team 1 in the final to win the tournament!
A fantastic time was had by all, and we would like to thank the coaches, umpires and parents who helped to make it such a great success.
Tallinn Summer Junior Cricket
Junior cricket sessions will be held every second Thursday at Snelli Stadium, commencing on June 27 from 13:00 to 14:30 with coaches Ragne and Dave.
Tartu Summer Junior Cricket
Junior cricket sessions will be held every second Thursday at Tamme puiestee 1, commencing on July 4 from 18:00 to 19:00 with coaches Laima and Savio.
Women and Girls Intro to Cricket
Introduction to cricket sessions for women and girls aged 13 and over will be held on Saturdays at Snelli Stadium from 11:00-12:00 on June 22 & 29, July 6, 13 & 20.
KOONDISED
ECI Cyprus
Congratulations to the Estonian National Men’s Team on its first ever series win, as they defeated Cyprus 3-2 in the ECI T10 series held in Cyprus from June 15-16!
Sahil Chauhan was named player of the series for his great form with the bat, scoring 237 runs including 29 sixes. He also scored Estonia’s first international T10 century.

ECI-W Cyprus
The Estonian National Women’s Team faced a Cyprus team playing their first International matches, but filled with talented players. Cyprus won the series 4-1, with the highlight for Estonia being match 3 where they bowled out Cyprus for just 37 runs and chased the total in 4 overs.

T20I Bilateral Series Cyprus
The Men’s National Team continued their good form in the T20I series, beating Cyprus 4-2.
The series included some excellent performances, including half centuries for Arslan Amjad, Ali Masood, Steffan Gooch and Bilal Masud, but they were all overshadowed by a world record breaking innings from Sahil Chauhan.
Sahil scored the fastest ever T20I century, reaching triple figures in just 27 balls, and also broke the record for most sixes in an innings with 18! He finished on 144* from 41 balls to set a new Estonian National Team record as well.
Sahil Chauhan was named player of the series for his incredible performances. He scored 297 runs as well as taking 4 wickets and 2 catches.

T20I-W Bilateral Series Cyprus
The Women’s National Team followed up their T10 series with a T20I series, and were unfortunately unable to win a match, going down 5-0 to Cyprus.
Despite the result, there are plenty of positives to celebrate from the series, including the continued improvement in all aspects of the game.
Highlighting this continued improvement were 4 new highest T20I scores for Estonian Women set during the tournament, with Liina Sõrmus, Annemari Vessik, Helena Kerge and Laima Dalbina all beating the previous best with the bat. 12 batters set their personal highest T20I score in the series.
New records were also set with the ball, with the Estonian Women’s best T20I bowling figures beaten 3 times, by Viktoria Frey, Annemari Vessik, and Maret Valner.
