BOARD NEWS

New Women’s National Team Head Coach

EKL is delighted to announce Anu Doddaballapur as the new Estonian Women’s National Team Head Coach.

Anu is an ECB Elite Level 3 Coach, ICC Level 2 Coaching Tutor with over 10 years of coaching experience.

As a player, she represented Germany for 13+ years, and was captain for 7 of those years. She holds 2 t20i world records, the first women’s double hattrick and best bowling figures by a captain. She was selected to play in the 2022 Fairbreak Tournament and in the ICC 2019 Global Squad.

She will be supported by Georgie Sockett and team manager Dave Robson across the upcoming international series in 2025.

EKL AGM

It is time for our AGM once more, the date will be 30th April at the basement room in Hookah Palace from 19:00.

The main topic will be the election of the board, with the exception of Mart who has one more season the rest of the board positions will be open for election.

Travis Beswick will stand down and not run for re-election.

All other members with be applying for the same roles they are currently doing.

OPERATIONS

European Cricket Series Tallinn

This year’s European Cricket Series Tallinn will take place from May 19 to 25, with 6 teams competing for the trophy.

Tallinn Stallions, Tallinn Strikers, Tallinn United, Tallinn Hippos, Tallinn Riders and Tartu Wolves will face off for the chance to be European Cricket Series Champions!

Women’s Cricket Tournament

Estonian Cricket will host a women’s cricket festival this year at Tiskre, with both softball and hardball tournaments taking place on June 12-13!

Teams will travel from the UK to compete against 2 home teams in what should be a fantastic event.

 

European Cricket League

Tallinn Strikers represented Estonia in this year’s European Cricket League from March 8-10.

Unfortunately due to massive rainfall no matches took place with the Strikers taking part in the first ever Power Over! The team finished third in their group and represented Estonia with distinction.

 

DEVELOPMENT

ICC Level 1 Coaching Course

EKL successfully held our first ICC Level 1 Coaching Course for the year, with 10 coaches passing and achieving their level 1 accreditation!

Congratulations to our new level 1 coaches.

 

Tallinn Junior Training

Junior soft ball training continues on Sundays from 12:00-13:00 at Õismäe Gümnaasium until the end of May. The monthly training fee is 20€

HIGH PERFORMANCE

Men’s National Team

The men kick off the year with a trip to Malta for a T10 series followed by a T20i series from May 3-7. All matches will be streamed live and free on the European Cricket Network’s youtube channel.

Women’s National Team
